30 Days Wild Day 14: Natural history

TWT 30 Days Wild_countdown_14.JPG

Yesterday we went to the natural history museum as E and M had requested we visit the elephants, polar bear, butterflies… and the not so wild lift (one of the many highlights).

We saw a black swan behind glass which we also saw alive when we went to collect elderflowers on day 11.

They are big fans of the drawers you can look in to find eggs and shells.

We saw the eggs of some of our regular garden visitors (hadn’t quite appreciated how small a chaffinch egg is!) and a large array of creatures from places afar.

A picnic lunch in the wildlife garden would have been nice but we were rained into their indoor eating area for our lunch.

Not a bad little spontaneous mornings outing.
